Projects
Create a project, fill in details, design it, then generate a proposal & contract. Everything saves in this browser.
Project details
Customer and site info. Used across the map, quote, and proposal.
Energy Usage
Upload the customer's Green Button Data (CSV) or enter monthly usage by hand. Set their current rate plan and the plan they'll move to after solar.
⚡ Claude helper
Pick a utility & rate and enter usage - I'll estimate the bill and suggest a system size here.
Bill is estimated from a blended $/kWh for the selected rate (TOU prices vary by time of use, so treat it as a ballpark). Type a value to lock it manually.
Recommended System Claude
The best system auto-sizes from the Usage tab - PV for ~100% offset plus a battery sized for NEM 3.0 self-consumption. Edit PV or battery directly to see the bill impact, or refine with Claude for insights you couldn't enter (shading, roof space, budget, future EV/pool).
Design / Map
Pick a module first, then drag across the roof to lay a grid of panels. Click any panel to delete it.

Pick a solar module above to begin placing panels.

Off-Grid / Battery Sizing
Enter daily loads, autonomy and site sun-hours to size the battery bank and array.

Dwelling Load Calculation - NEC Standard Method (Art. 220 Pt III)
Single-family standard-method estimate for service sizing. Always verify against the current NEC & your AHJ.

Search your catalog, set quantities. Costs are your supplier price; markup is applied for the customer price.

Contract details (Solar / ESS)
These fill the Home Improvement Agreement. Total cost pulls from your Quote unless you enter an override. Equipment auto-fills from this project's design & BOM - if there's no battery, the ESS section is left out entirely.
Generate documents
Preview, then use Print → Save as PDF. For solar jobs, the CA Guide must be signed before the contract.
Templates for convenience - have an attorney review before use, and confirm the CA guide is the current CPUC version.
⚡ Tailor with Claude - this project only
Generate a document above first, then ask Claude to change any part of it - scope, wording, terms, pricing text, add sections, anything. It edits the document currently shown. You can also edit the document directly by hand (click into it). Examples: "Add a 200A main panel upgrade and 40 ft of trenching to the scope." · "Change the payback to 6 years." · "Remove the sentence about pre-existing roof conditions." · "Add a section on the reroof coordination."
Company & defaults
Contract defaults
Boilerplate used by the contract generator.
Post-solar bill model
Assumptions behind the estimated post-solar bill & savings. Tune to match your market / OpenSolar. Note: OpenSolar runs a full hour-by-hour TOU simulation - this is a simplified annual model, so treat it as a ballpark.
Map imagery
Default is free Esri imagery. For sharper HD aerials, paste a free Mapbox access token - sign up at mapbox.com, and copy the default public token (starts with
pk.) from your account page. After saving, reload the tool, then use the layer switcher (top-right of the map) to pick "Mapbox Satellite (HD)". For OpenSolar-grade clarity you'd need paid Google/Nearmap imagery.Google Satellite is the sharpest (closest to OpenSolar) and is effectively free at your volume (10,000 map loads/mo free). After saving a key, reload the tool - Google Satellite becomes the default and also appears in the map's layer switcher.
Claude AI assist (optional)
Paste an Anthropic API key to enable the AI panel. It reads the current project to draft scopes, proposals, and answer questions. Key is stored only in this browser.
Security: keep this file on your computer. Don't upload it or the browser data anywhere with the key inside.
Catalog
Seeded from your Greentech pricing. Add/edit items; prices are your cost.
